First, before I share a video with you, I have to tell you that apparently I am much better looking in person than I am in my videos! I spoke at the Victoria Real Estate Club meeting on Tuesday night and had more than one person say that to me (and to Dave!).
The good news is these folks had each spent quite a bit of time taking in our real estate investing video series and many of our blog posts … the bad news is that apparently we look pretty bad in those videos!! Today’s video is definitely not an exception – I blame it on the lighting – but I look a little worse for wear. Oh well … I’d rather pleasantly surprise you when we meet than have your expectations set too high and have you recoil in horror!
And most important to us is that you’re getting value from what we’re sharing not that you think we’re good looking – and these folks seem to really appreciate the tips so that is good.
Life As Real Estate Investors Makes the Top 10 Real Estate Blogs from Bigger Pockets
I want to say a big thank you to Josh Dorkin and BiggerPockets for sifting through over 200 different blogs to come up with their list of the Top 20 Real Estate Blogs! That was not a small undertaking. And I really want to thank them for including us in the TOP 10!!
We were absolutely thrilled to be on the list surrounded by some awesome blogs that have been on my RSS feed for awhile. And there were a couple of blogs there I hadn’t checked out (but am glad I have now!), including:
Attending Dave’s 20 Year High School Reunion is a Tax Write Off
We’re back over to Nanaimo today but this time is less about our real estate and more about Dave’s 20th High School Reunion!! Can you believe that folks? He’s been out of highschool for 20 years?? It just doesn’t seem possible, especially if you’ve witnessed a little of what I put up with everyday as he bursts out into song while I am in the middle of writing something serious.
But, while in Nanaimo, I will be meeting up with a few different folks to get work estimates for our property that we’re turning into a rent to own (See my article on Rental Property Portfolio ABC’s). Our tenants all moved out yesterday so I’ll be getting everything ready for our tenant buyers who move in July 15th. And, hopefully, we’ll be showing one of the two vacant properties we have right now. At least doing all that ensures our Nanaimo visit is a tax write off!!
Video Tip: Saving Time & Money Dealing with Rental Property Keys
And with that – I’d like to leave you with a little video I shot at the property we just purchased. If you’ve ever been managing your own properties and had to drive across town, or worse, courier YOUR keys to your tenants because they locked themselves out of the house you’ll appreciate this tip. And we find this is extremely useful to have from day 1 of buying a property … not just when there are tenants in place.
Happy day after Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians and to all my dear US friends … I wish you a fabulous Independence Day weekend! Enjoy the BBQ’s, Fireworks and Fun!
Oh & if you want 31 really awesome real estate investing video tips – all 3 minutes or less – you can get them right here … it’s our gift to you!!
p.s. I know with a freeze frame as beautiful as the one You Tube gave me for this video it’s hard to believe I could be any better looking in person … but apparently it’s true.
HAPPY WEEKEND EVERYONE!
