Shae,

What a great article. I would like to talk to you about letting me included this story in my upcoming book;

More Stories From...
MY LIFE & 1,000 Houses

I'd like to get a little deeper into the details and the numbers, the fear and anxiety and then the thrill of being out on the frontier of your life. 'm think 5 to 6 pages worth with greater insight as to...

How you went about creating your budget and how you planned to "Hedge Your Bets' if things didn't go as wello as planned?

How much time did you have in honing your new entrepreneurail craft (Flipping)?

How did you spend on that education and in gaining all that self confidence?

How did you know that business plan was going to work for you?

Did you prove out your apptitude part time?

How many flips did you do before you jump the copoerate ship?

Did that money go towards your Debt, into savings?

How much does you spouse make and how big an influence is that?

You have time control now but does your Husband?
Do you have a plan to get BOTH of YOU off someone else's payroll?

Do you do business as a Sole Proprietor, C-Corp, S-Corp, LLC, LLP LP?
Why?

Who was on your "Dream Team" or sitting at your "Round Table" helping to guide you in your decisions?

How does God figure in to your decisions?
How do you know when to say, "This is definitely God showing me the way?"

Let me know what you think.

Hi Floyd, really good question. My husband is a massage therapist (part-time as he also works the businesses with me) and no his income from massage does not cover all of our monthly household expenses. However, we do have other streams of monthly income (including rental property) plus we saved a pretty solid emergency fund that will cover us for several months while we increase our income substantially with the freed up time. It's a leap of faith for sure, but we're absolutely certain that we've done the right thing. Thanks for reading and for your comments, Floyd!

Shae - this is a great story! I do want to thank you for sharing it. I am wondering what does your husband do? Is he supporting your family financially while you do this? Is that why you were able to go into this full time even though you didn't meet your financial goals before you left your job?

Hi, I just wanted to come back and respond to several comments I didn't get a chance to see until today (perhaps they had to be approved first or something, but there was definitely a delay since I didn't see them earlier).

@Brian, thank you so much for your comments! Best wishes for your wholesaling business!

@Bolaji, you're awesome, thank you! It's not easy to find friends like you, and I'm blessed to have you, bud.

@Chris, thanks pal! I'm already enjoying it "on my own" that's for sure!

@Carey, thanks dear! You're my biggest fan for my book reviews and I appreciate it. LOL! I might have to re-read Power of Focus and write a review just for you later this year ;-)

@Luis, thank you for your comments. Yes, you and I are in a very similar place! I wish you the best and congrats on being bold and working on your own business rather than going to look for another job after being laid off. To tell you the truth, I spent a few months wishing I would get laid off but when it became clear that it wasn't happenin' anytime soon I knew I had to just be bold :-)

Shae, thanks for sharing. I enjoyed reading because I have gone through a very similar experience (http://www.wealth-steps.com/corporate-downsizing.html) however the difference being that my job was "eliminated" rather than me choosing to eliminate it. However, like you I had been planning on leaving the corporate life but destiny helped me make that transition a bit earlier than I expected ;-)

From going through that experience and now being a full time investor I completely agree that having a tight grip on your personal finances is key. Like you I had 0 debt other than the mortgage and had built up an emergency fund. Having those things gives you a lot of piece of mind so that you can concentrate on your business without having to worry if you are going to be able to keep the lights on!

It has certainly been a tough transition but there is no motivation like moving out of your comfort zone and seeing what you are capable of. I like reading about your experience because it shows me that I am not alone.
