Character Home Renovation Project: Before & After Pictures

We just put the FOR RENT sign up and posted the ads online … it’s official … our character home renovation project is darn near complete.

We have some work to do in the yard and we have to put numbers on the house still – but otherwise we are done! And we are really proud of how it turned out.

Why Isn’t My House Renting?? Troubleshooting a Vacancy Issue

We have a vacancy in one of our properties that is managed by a property manager.

It’s located in Kelowna. We normally try to get out to see our properties as soon as a vacancy comes up but Kelowna is not a day trip from Vancouver Island where we lived. So, we planned a trip right after the Investor Forum to check everything out. Since I knew we were going there in a week or so, I didn’t check up on the ads for the property when they got posted at the start of November.

We recently sold our townhome in Burnaby. This townhome was in a complex of 38 other townhomes. Each unit was pretty much the same – with a few minor variations.

We managed to sell ours for $7,000 more than the highest sale ever in the complex AND about $30,000 higher than average. Plus the next property to sell in our complex, just a few weeks later, sold for $17,000 less than ours.

How to Prep Your Rental Property for a Tenant Showing

April’s been a busy month for us as we ended up with two new properties to fill. Our goal is to buy one property a month, and as much as we try to stick to that schedule, sometimes we’ll end up with a month like February where we don’t close on anything and then a month like April where we get two!
