Sometimes when you place an ad on Craigslist or Kijiji for a rental property you never know what kind of responses you’ll get. Sometimes you get a simple one line response from a prospective tenant saying:
With the Vancouver Olympics less than a year away, Dave and I started wondering if we should rent out our home in Burnaby to some Olympic visitors. As we started considering that as an option, it suddenly occurred to us that we didn’t have to wait until the Olympics to do short term furnished rentals. In fact, it might be a good idea to do a test run before we turned our home into a furnished rental for the Olympics.
For a couple of weeks it seemed that all we talked about was buying rental property from motivated sellers. One article triggered a series of other articles that were in response to reader emails on the topic. This time, the topic has been inspired by reader mail first! It seems that there are a lot of real estate investors that are looking at, or already have rental properties that have tenant troubles. We know all about tenant troubles! We’ve had our share, but more importantly, we’ve figured out how to effectively solve most problems.
